July 29, 2009 When it comes to finding words to describe the Zee Speed experience I can’t think of one in particular. Zee Speed is working hard, becoming the best, building friendships, pushing your limits, and, above all, having fun working toward a better future. Zee Speed has turned me into a better athlete and an overall person. The leadership of Zach and all the coaches has shown me that there are still people in the community who believe in giving kids a positive outlook and brighter future. Too many kids grow up in harsh conditions and some don’t get to grow up because their time in this life is cut short, but the boys and girls of the Zee Speed program have taken a step in the right direction to make sure that they have a great future, and its all thanks to the time, effort, and love provided by Zach and his coaching staff. When I first started going to Zee Speed I was scared because I didn’t know anyone, I wasn’t the biggest kid there, and I was new to the program. After one week of working out I had made friends and become more comfortable with my fitness level and was ready to push myself. I used to hate getting up at 6 a.m. to get to Stadium or Mt. Tahoma and get ready to feel sick from running and working hard, but now I look forward to every Zee Speed day and I can’t wait to run with the fast kids, see my friends, and greet Zach early in the morning unpacking his car. Zee Speed has changed my life dramatically. I now have more energy toward things I didn’t always get excited for, I respect other individuals around me more than in the past, and, the most important thing is I see that an idea, great or small, can blossom into an amazing thing that can help people who seek it, and better others who want it. I’d like to thank Zach and everyone who has helped in the Zee Speed program, as well as anyone who has helped change the life of one child for the better. You’ve made the world a better place. Thank you to all of you. Brad Fairweather South Kitsap High School graduate of 2009 Olympic College
