What ZeeSpeed means to me After I completed my junior year of high school. I wanted to attend Z Speed in the summer of 2006 but didn't find out about it in time. Therefore, I was determined to attend Z Speed in the summer of 2007. I expressed my wishes to my mother, who took quick action to contact Z Speed. My mother reserved by spot and I was able to attend Z Speed the summer of 2007. My only expectation from attending Z Speed was to become faster. I thought that would be the measure of success for me. I did attend Z Speed the summer of 2007 and left there faster and leaner. However, what I left there with was much more than the physical accomplishments. I left there with many life rewarding lessons. Stronger and Faster: Physically I worked hard daily and increased my speed and endurance. My body is now leaner and stronger. I have tremendous explosion now. I became more agile and able to move quicker and defend better in basketball and football. Better Athlete: I work out all year round. I take better care of my body. I eat more nutritious meals and I drink plenty of water. I have better conditioning routine and get plenty of rest to give my body a chance to repair itself. Leadership: Z speed has not only helped me to become a better athlete but also a better person, and it has taught me how to become a leader. As a team player, I've always been able to encourage others but now I am comfortable with leading others. After attending Z speed, I am not afraid to be a leader. I now recognize my ability to influence others. I utilized those skills and abilities in my senior year. I was encouraged to use those skills, and as a result have positioned myself to become a college athlete and leader. In conclusion, attending Z Speed has helped me to stretch and set high expectations for myself in athletics and academics. I went into Z Speed expecting to become faster but I came out of Z Speed a much better person, athlete and leader. My efforts were acknowledge by the following awards I received in my senior year: Athletic Awards: SPSL 2nd team Defensive Back (voted on by high school coaches) Most Inspirational (voted on by team mates) Varsity Football Best Defense (voted on by team mates/coaches) Varsity Basketball College Football Scholarship (University Montana Western) School/Social Awards Interviewed and Article in Tacoma News Tribune (Diversity Leadership) Interviewed and Article in Bethel Pride Newsletter (High School Newsletter) Selected 2008 Royalty (Senior Ball Bethel High School) I am so impressed with the Z Speed program that I am attending this summer before I leave town for college. Donte' Maurice Green, will attend University of Montana Western, Autumn 2008
